Additionally, Colorado cutthroat trout are present; however, regulations require their immediate release if caught.
• Boating: Both motorized and non-motorized boating are permitted on the reservoir, providing opportunities for water skiing, wakeboarding, and leisurely exploration of the lake’s serene waters.
• Camping and Picnicking: The surrounding area offers camping facilities and picnic sites, making it an ideal spot for family gatherings and overnight stays amidst the natural beauty of the Manti-La Sal National Forest.
Fish Species in the Lake:
• Tiger Trout: The primary catch for anglers at Huntington Reservoir, known for their aggressive behavior and challenging fight.
• Colorado Cutthroat Trout: Occasionally caught; anglers must release these fish immediately to comply with local fishing regulations.
Directions to Huntington Reservoir from I-15:
1. Start on I-15 (Southbound or Northbound):
Get on Interstate 15, the main north-south freeway through Utah.
2. Take Exit 261 for US-6 East (Toward Price):
• This exit is near Spanish Fork, Utah.
• Follow signs for US-6 East and Price.
3. Continue on US-6 East for about 60 miles.
• You’ll pass through beautiful canyon country as you head southeast.
4. Take the exit for UT-10 South (Toward Huntington):
• Near the town of Price, watch for signs to Huntington / UT-10 South.
• Merge onto UT-10 South.
5. Follow UT-10 South for about 19 miles to Huntington.
• Drive through the town of Huntington.
• Watch for signs to UT-31.
6. Turn right (west) onto UT-31 at Huntington.
• This scenic road heads into the Manti-La Sal National Forest.
7. Drive approximately 17 miles up UT-31 to Huntington Reservoir.
• The reservoir will be on your right.
• This road is steep and winding in places, so drive carefully—especially in winter or early spring.
