Twin Ponds is a scenic area located in Sevier County, Utah, within the Fishlake National Forest. Situated at an elevation of approximately 9,000 feet, the site is surrounded by aspen trees, offering a tranquil setting for visitors.
The area features dispersed camping sites equipped with a vault restroom and gravel roads. Recreational activities include fishing in the nearby Twin Ponds reservoir, as well as opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, and 50-inch ATV riding on designated routes. Anglers can also explore other nearby fishing spots such as Abes Reservoir, Cold Springs, Farnsworth Reservoir, and Salina Reservoir.
To reach Twin Ponds from Salina, Utah, head south on State Street for about 2 miles until you reach I-70. Merge onto I-70 eastbound and continue for approximately 6.5 miles. Take Exit 63 for Gooseberry Road, then turn right (south) onto Gooseberry Road (County Road #640) and drive for about 13.4 miles. Finally, turn right onto Forest Road 309 and proceed for 0.3 miles to arrive at the dispersed camping area. Please note that there is no water available on-site, so plan accordingly.
